When the pump casting is made by stainless steel investment casting. Lost wax casting will be preferred. The casting has a smooth surface and tight tolerance. Just like valve castings. The lost wax process will reduce machining work and result in a uniform net shape casting. This will save time and cost by reducing most post-treatment and machining work.
The die casting process is suitable for thin wall thickness requirements and special aluminum alloy materials. For example, mounting brackets. Aluminum die castings can achieve high strength and perfect quality. When you have wall thickness requirements, aluminum die castings are the better choice.
If pump casting choose iron or cast iron as raw material. Sand casting will be a better solution. Because sand casting has the advantage of low cost and good inherent quality. However, compared with investment casting, more machining allowance will be obtained.
In general applications, cast iron pumps are pump castings. They are more often used for water transportation. Stainless steel pumps are used for transporting corrosive media.
We will use tempering heat treatment process. To improve the mechanical properties, hardness, wear resistance and strength.
